Availability on the Mac isn't of use to us, but availability in a browser, now that would be another thing entirely. I, like many, don't want to go back down the road of having to install. Power BI is great for dashboards or anything that will be interactive for the end user. The various charts you put on a screen all interact nicely together with very little additional tweaking needed between them. This is great when you are trying to follow the data to find an answer you are looking for. Power BI is probably not going to be the best tool for a very specific report that someone might as for, with the report being pretty static. Think of something like a template design, Power BI will not be the tool for that. Anyone familiar with Power Query, in particular, will find Power BI to be happily similar in many ways.

The interface allows for some powerful data cleaning and wrangling without the need to learn the underlying M language. Very intuitive to use and short learning curve even for a non-tech person for basic usage. DAX is the basic foundation language to be mastered to quickly build reports.

Custom measures have been introduce to write instant DAX functions But doesnt work all the time and need a understanding of DAX to debug. The platform is limited to the number of people who can access it, but the main issue is when multiple users are in the same app the speed is reduced. It's just something to be mindful about. I have yet to find something that Power BI cannot access for data analysis.

As it is a Microsoft product it plays particularly nice with the Office suite as well as Access, but it works just fine with SQL as well. Photoshop elements.
