I read a fee negative reviews about the light not being on when plugged in and I thought I had a dead one too. After installing the certificates on my computer, inserting my CAC card, the light only blinks or comes on when the reader is gathering data as designed. Very pleased with the product. Thank you' Dan N.

If you did a simple HD clone nothing should reset. Most Pro apps will even continue to work if you just do a full clone from one HD to another (now moving into another machine can be a problem since some apps use the Apple serial number/MAC address as part of the licensing). It may be different than my plist, because I've got an enterprise/vlk version. EDIT and then I think I found it or probably where it may be: /Users/account/library/application support/preferences/com.microsoft.office.plist Maybe that's what you're looking for? Also, the app support folder didn't seem to have what you're looking for either. Office for mac.
