Mac Software For Incremental Backups Best 2016
I've finished building a new computer and I'd like to begin backups of all three drives. Each drive has a corresponding blank. I thought I could use native Windows 10 tools, but B&R will only save an image of the system drive. I'm interested in incremental backups (probably daily for the system, weekly for the two storage drives). I'd also like to stay away from a program that creates a compressed, proprietary image. Ideally if one drive fails, I'd prefer the ability to simply swap in the corresponding backup, and just replace the failed drive, making the backup the new master.

Can you recommend decent software? 2 different considerations, OS drive and 'other' drives Here's my situation: 1. Macrium Reflect. An image every night at 2 AM of the C drive.
Save 2 weeks worth. Every Sunday at 3AM to another PC. Save for 4 weeks.
Easily reconstituted. Other, data drives. Folder and/or file copy. Absolutely regular files, nothing proprietary. Copy out to whatever other drive you choose. Copies only new or changed files. On whatever schedule you set.
I've never tried Macrium. I use Acronis True Image though i imagine they are similar. I also use SyncbackSE.
My setup is: 1) Acronis TI: a) 2nd from top compression scheme (best compression was a lot longer for minimal space savings) b) an Incremental 'chain' (see help) so I had a FULL backup + smaller incremental (I set to FOUR incrementals) c) weekly backup (first week is full, 2nd week is incremental etc) d) DELETES older backups I see USAFret mentions daily image backups of his C-drive. I wouldn't do that myself. You probably need roughly the same amount of space as your C-drive has filled up with my method (files are compressed so full weekly plus several partials is ROUGHLY about the same space. In my case it's about 100GB).
2) SyncbackSE Free: a) daily backup b) assigned a couple important folders in my 'Documents' folder. Why a daily image of the C? Because the Macrium software does it, and because I have the drive space. Every night at 2 AM, keeping 2 weeks worth. You can set whatever schedule you like.
