Okay, so rather obvious. I have now ensured that the skype icon is present in the Applications forlder (and I presume the program too) but shutting down and rebooting still presents e with a big grey questionmark on the applications bar at the bottom of the screen. Not a real problem with the functionality of the program, as again, clicking on the question mark converts it into a 'functional' skype icon. I'll try to click onthe icon inthe applications folder now and see if that connects me to skype too.
