There are times when it becomes necessary or desirable to move mail from your Physics (or any other) email account into local folders on your computer. For instance, you are nearing your mail quota or you have personal or old email you wish to keep, but not in your account on the server. Using local folders is an option that most email clients provide for this (Thunderbird, Apple Mail, Outlook, etc. All offer 'Local Folders' or 'On My Mac').
